We are seeking a Tier 1 Technician to join our team in a full-time role. This position is hands-on and involves working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable with physical labor, safety-focused, and consistently reliable.

As a Tier 1 Technician, you will take on a working leadership role, managing and directing a crew in day-to-day operations while also performing tasks alongside them. You will report directly to the Project Manager, ensuring that field work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Potential for promotion is virtually limitless, as the business expands, motivated individuals will have a clear path toward higher leadership and specialized roles.

Work is based out of the local shop with assignments at customer jobsites. Travel includes local daily trips as well as occasional overnight stays depending on project needs.

Position Details
  • Crew Leadership: Direct and oversee a small team in daily field operations, setting the pace and ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Hands-On Work: Actively participate in physical outdoor tasks alongside your crew, including setup, operation, and cleanup of job sites.
  • Safety Enforcement: Monitor and enforce proper safety practices, PPE use, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Project Support: Carry out project plans under the direction of the Project Manager, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Equipment Use & Care: Operate and maintain tools, trucks, and specialized equipment; report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Communication: Serve as the main link between your crew and management, providing clear updates on progress, challenges, or needs.
  • Training & Mentorship: Support less experienced team members by providing instruction, guidance, and feedback in the field.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and adapt to challenges that arise during projects, finding practical solutions to keep work on track.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for the performance, conduct, and safety of the crew during assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in the environmental industry or a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required
  • Must pass a respirator fit test; clean-shaven or mustache facial hair acceptable
  • Previous management experience or leadership training preferred
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Clean driving record (subject to review) and valid DOT medical card for operating company vehicles
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform outdoor labor in varying conditions
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
